Gerardo
Ramos
continues to be a prominent public
advocate with regard to the plight of
the Caribbean coral
reefs and the
fragile ecosystems associated with
them.
Recent
scientific studies list as many as six
confirmed
coral diseases in the
Caribbean region alone; but many
researchers estimate the numbers to be
as high as
fifteen.
Gerardo has
dedicated his adult life to increasing
the
public awareness of the importance
and value
of the living coral reef and hopes to
Increase the scientific and public
understanding of the issues. Through
his efforts, Gerardo hopes to
strengthen his community-based ties
and begin to re-plant the coral reefs
of his native Puerto Rico

Our Mission
Marine Reef Habitat is dedicated to 'coral reef relief' and
is a membership organization dedicated to 'Preserve and
Protect Living Coral Reef Ecosystems' through local, regional
and global efforts. Marine Reef Habitat's primary mission is
to increase public awareness of the importance and value of
all living coral reef ecosystems.
It is Marine Reef Habitat's strong belief that educating the
general public with regard to the effects of the warming
temperatures and increasing storms and the serious threats
they pose to Caribbean and other coral reefs and the people
who depend on them for their livelihoods is one of our primary
initiatives.
Marine Reef Habitat is working hard to protect these fragile
ecosystems but we need your help. Please join us by becoming a

reef. There is no charge to become a member,
however if you would like to make a donation to this cause,
